MIT SCALE Data Collection is a tool for collecting data about small firms in Latin America for the research of Dr Josue Velazquez at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics in Cambridge, MA.

For the firm:
This app will add data about the firms to a database. From the database, the firms will receive a report of their performance relative to other firms in our database. Firms that participate in our research will receive feedback and recommendations to improve productivity.

For the interviewer:
Interviewers can get involved with the research project through universities in Latin America. The interviewers who download the app will use a code given to them at training to create an account. For the immersion portion of the data collection process it will be necessary to be physically present at the firm. The app will need internet connection to create or access the account, but will be able to store responses locally in case there is no connection at the firm, to be uploaded later.

For the researcher:
The researchers at MIT CTL will receive in real time all the responses uploaded by the interviewers to develop insights about the factors in Micro Supply Chain Management that play a role in survival and productivity.
